India’s Meban Suiam Shines With Second Place Finish at Red Bull Tlang Ruam 2025

HEADLINES

Aizawl — India’s Meban Suiam delivered a spectacular performance at Red Bull Tlang Ruam 2025, Asia’s first-ever urban downhill mountain biking event, racing through the steep slopes and narrow lanes of Aizawl to secure a brilliant second-place finish.

The high-octane competition featured riders from four nations, with Mizoram’s capital transformed into a gravity-defying racecourse. Nepal’s Nirav Shreshta ultimately took the top spot with a time of 2:00.293, nine seconds ahead of Meban, while Yawar Ali Khan finished third. Shreshta’s win earns him a place at the world-famous Red Bull Cerro Abajo Valparaíso 2025 in Chile.

Meban’s podium finish is being widely celebrated, marking him as one of India’s strongest emerging downhill talents. Competing against international riders trained under MTB icons Tomáš Slavík and Pedro Burns, his performance showcased both skill and fearlessness on one of the toughest urban tracks ever raced in India.

With participants from 10 Indian states and three countries, the event has put Aizawl on the global MTB map — and Meban Suiam’s impressive run has sparked pride among biking fans across the country.
