Shillong: Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister who is also the Minister incharge of Home Department Prestone Tyngsong on Wednesday held a review meeting with concerned departments to discuss on the preparation of the G20 Summit which is scheduled to be held in Shillong on April 17 and 18.
“We had a meeting with all the concerned departments and I am happy to tell you that we are more or less ready for welcoming the G20 meeting”, said Tyngsong while addressing media personnel.
Beautification, repairing of infrastructure security and transportation all these details were discussed during the review meeting, informed Tyngsong.
The Deputy CM also informed that not less than 120 delegates are expected to arrive in Shillong and they will be put up at Marriott where the meeting will also be held there.
Tynsong has also instructed the concerned department to work out the details concerning the vehicular movement to avoid traffic jam.
The G20 or Group of 20 is an intergovernmental forum of the world’s major development and developing economies.
It comprises Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the UK, the US, and the European Union (EU).
