Shillong, September 13: The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K.Sangma said that the process of recruitment to fill the 1301 vacancies through the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) is ongoing. He also said that the Government will try to hold the interviews at the earliest possible time.

The Chief Minister said that while responding to the question presented by the MLA of Mawlai, Process T.Sawkmie on the second day of the Autumn Session.

While presenting the question, Sawkmie expressed concern at the delay of the MPSC in calling for the interviews.

While responding to the question presented by the MLA of Mawsynram, Conrad K.Sangma said that the delay in conducting the written examinations for the vacancies in the last 2-3 years was due to the problems from the onslaught of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the order issued by the Meghalaya High Court to implement the roster system.

At the same time the Chief Minister said that the Government is working on a plan to revamp the recruitment process in the MPSC,  and added that there had been a proposal to revamp the process with new technology and to conduct one common examination for all the vacancies requiring the same educational qualifications through the MPSC, and to put up more examination centres.
