In connection with conducting the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), NEHU will take a decision tomorrow at the meeting with the Principals of different colleges in Meghalaya in which will also be present the Education Minister in Meghalaya, Lahkmen Rymbui.
With regard to the report on t7 news, which stated that NEHU is not prepared to conduct the exam, that is not at all the case but the decision will be taken on the 21st of April at the meeting, and the statement of Prof. Henry Lamin to a few media persons is a personal opinion of his because in the meeting held on the 19th of April with the Education Department of the State, it was decided that the matter will be discussed again in the meeting with the Principal of the different colleges.
The CUET as such is an exam tasked to be conducted by the National Testing Agency under the supervision of the UGC. It may be clarified here that Prof. Henry Lamin is no longer the Pro Vice Chancellor and his statement on the CUET is a personal opinion. His statement cannot be taken as the statement of NEHU.
NEHU from its end has not at all stated that the university is not prepared to hold this exam, and the VC has clearly stated that the CUET will greatly benefit the students of the State.
