BJP MIGHT BE CHUCKED OUT FROM THE MDA GOVERNMENT

HEADLINES

SHILLONG, March 16: Following the refusal of the Bhartiya Janata Party to work with the National People’s Party in the Manipur Government, it is probable that in Meghalaya as well the BJP might be chucked out from the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) Government led by the NPP.

Speaking with the National President of the NPP who is also the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Kongkal Sangma said that Government formation differs from one state to another, and the NPP will also thoroughly examine on how to move forward in Meghalaya if the NPP is not taken as a coalition partner in the Government led by the BJP in Manipur since the BJP there won an absolute majority in the Election.

He said that in the Election, the NPP did not enter into any pre-poll alliance with any party however he informed that there was already a talk to work together with the BJP after the Election.

Sangma said that the NPP is a coalition partner in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government led by the BJP in Delhi and also in Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya, but with regard to Manipur as the BJP won an absolute majority, it is upto them to decide, and if invited, the NPP is ready to work together with them.
