Shillong: Dr.Mukul Sangma, the leader of the Opposition in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly cannot but be amused on finding and seeing that from time to time, the MDA Government tries to copy exactly or take examples from other States when it comes to either implementing or relaxing the restrictions prescribed in the precautionary protocols to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Speaking with media persons, Dr.Mukul Sangma felt the need to express that the moment Christmas festivities and celebrations were over, suddenly the Government moved hurriedly towards implementing the protocols.
In his opinion, he said that this implementation were only effective for the majority of the public staying in the state whereas for those working outside the state, many were allowed to return home with relaxed norms without knowing for certain if some could have been carriers of the virus and it was only then that the Government started to implement the protocols when much of the public were already infected with the virus.
It was only towards the end of December that the infection rate of the virus rose again and when the time period of the rise is taken into account, the whole thing appears to be no less than a joke.
