IF THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT RELEASE THE PENDING 2 MONTHS SALARIES OF TEACHERS BY THE 25TH, MSSASA WILL PROTEST AGAIN

HEADLINES

SHILLONG, March 22: The President of the Meghalaya SSA School Association (MSSASA), Aristotle Rymbai said that if the Government cannot release the 2 months pending salaries of the SSA teachers as promised by the Minister incharge of the Department of Education on the 2nd of March, the association will meet again to intensify their agitations to express their protest against the obstinacy of the MDA Government.

In releasing a press statement today, Rymbai said that it has been 20 days since the Minister promised to firstly clear the two months pending salaries of the SSA teachers, but upon pursuing the matter till yesterday the 21st of March, from the Secretary of Education, Ambrose Marak, the information received is that it is under process.

He said that this action of the Government shows that the promises given by the Minister to the SSA teachers are only tricks to pacify the SSA teachers who took to the streets to demand their salaries. He said that this is not acceptable as it is not a joke for the teachers to survive without any salaries for upto 5 months.

Rymbai said that the Government should not force the teachers to take to the streets again along with their children, and posed a question also on the delay of the Government.
