HSPDP MDC from Mawshynrut, Srally Rashir, on Thursday objected to what he called an unwarranted interference by KHADC Executive Member (EM) Pynkhraw Kharjahrin, who is also the MDC of Mawkyrwat, during a discussion in the KHADC session.
The incident occurred during the question hour, when Mairang MDC Equator Nongrang raised a query regarding a Council check gate. While Nongrang was still presenting his questions, EM Pynkhraw Kharjahrin interrupted, citing a rule that limits MDCs to asking only three questions per session.
This prompted Srally Rashir to stand up in protest, questioning how an EM could dictate the proceedings of the Chairman. He argued that it was the Chairman’s duty to regulate the session, not the EM’s.
Supporting Rashir’s argument, Opposition Leader Titosstarwell Chyne pointed out that Nongrang had only asked two questions so far, making Kharjahrin’s objection baseless. He urged the Chairman to dismiss the EM’s complaint and allow the discussion to continue smoothly.
