A social media user who frequently posts videos and livestreams on Instagram is facing backlash for allegedly using derogatory language that many have found offensive.
The content from one Instagram user goes by the account name ‘queen_beb_7811’ has sparked public outcry, has been widely criticised for its inflammatory language, with many individuals from every corner of society expressing frustration and concern over the repeated use of offensive remarks on Khasi community.
In response, the Hynniewtrep Integrated Territorial Organization (HITO) Shillong City on Monday have filed a formal complaint with East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Sylvester Nongtynger, urging action against the individual involved.
Speaking to the media, HITO Shillong City General Secretary Balajied Jyrwa said the organisation commitment to address the matter, citing that uswr remarks were directed not only at the Khasi youth but also targeted pressure groups , women and the police of Meghalaya.
