Shillong: In a midnight operation on Friday, the Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) seized 218.94 grams of heroin, valued at nearly ₹1 crore, from Nongrah, Shillong.
During the raid, police arrested Nengneilhing Khongsai (41), a resident of Manipur staying at Nongrah Nongpdeng. The contraband was recovered in 18 soap cases hidden inside a heavy bag.
Authorities confirmed that a case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway to trace the supply network.
The bust marks yet another significant success for Meghalaya Police in its ongoing crackdown against the drug menace in the state.
