Shillong: Cabinet Minister and government spokesman, Paul Lyngdoh informed that all possible arrangements have been made to bring back stranded Meghalaya citizens and students from Sikkim after flash floods that has claimed many lives.
Speaking to reporters on Friday,Lyngdoh said that based on the advisory made by the government of Meghalaya, students have been picked up and will be bring back to the State.
Lyngdoh said that within the next two to three days the entire operation will be complete.
On Friday morning, the government of Meghalaya has taken swift action to extend assistance to its citizens. A dedicated helpline, 1800-345-3644, has been activated to provide support and aid for students and residents of Meghalaya who may require assistance in the aftermath of this unfortunate event. Further, in case of an emergency, students and citizens can call the same helpline number for assistance.
