File an FIR if you have proof of corruption, says Prestone to opposition

The Deputy Chief Minister and NPP State President, Prestone Tynsong, has hit back at opposition parties accusing the NPP-led government of corruption, challenging them to file an FIR if they have proof instead of making baseless allegations.

Addressing an election campaign at Laitlyngkot, Nongkynrih, on Saturday in support of NPP candidate Rahboklang Tynsong from Langkyrdem-Laitkroh, Prestone Tynsong criticised his opponents for spreading misinformation.

Without naming any party, he said that some leaders were misleading people by claiming that the government’s money had flowed directly into his and Chief Minister Conrad Sangma’s personal accounts.

“If I had stolen that much, why haven’t they filed a case against me? Those making false accusations should prove their claims and lodge an FIR. But till now, they have remained silent,” said Tynsong, dismissing the allegations as mere political rhetoric.

He further urged the people to focus on facts rather than opposition propaganda and called on voters to elect NPP candidate Rahboklang Tynsong as their MDC on February 21 for continued development in the constituency.
