The Meghalaya Cabinet on Monday decided to hold elections for the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) and Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) on March 22, 2025, pending approval from the state’s Governor, CH Vijayashankar.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma confirmed that the government has finalized the election date for the legislative councils of the two ADCs. The decision now awaits the Governor’s formal approval before being officially announced.
