Meghalaya’s Education Minister, Rakkam A Sangma, has responded to criticisms regarding the inclusion of Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma’s image in the “CM Impact, A Guide Book for SSLC Examination 2025.” Several political parties, including the VPP and Congress, have raised concerns, calling it a political move aimed at influencing young students.
Addressing the issue, Rakkam stated that those who are uncomfortable with the CM’s image can cover the photo but should not ignore the educational content in the book. He emphasized that the guidebook is a crucial resource aimed at helping Class 10 students, especially those from rural areas, improve their performance in the SSLC exams.
He also criticized the objections, calling them misplaced and urging people to focus on the book’s value in supporting students rather than the political implications of the CM’s photo.
