The Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills, Rosette M Kurbah, has confirmed that officials have been instructed to inspect all Puja pandals to ensure they do not encroach on public spaces or roads. This move comes as part of efforts to maintain order and compliance during the Puja celebrations.
DC Kurbah emphasized that the district authorities are closely monitoring the situation to ensure peace and harmony. Daily reviews are being conducted, and the DC underscored the importance of mutual respect among communities in a diverse society like India.
In addition to the inspections, CCTV cameras have been installed at Puja pandals and surrounding areas to ensure public safety and keep a close watch on activities during the festivities.
