SHILLONG, March 08: The Deputy Executive Member of the Khasi Hills District Council (KHADC) incharge of Finance, Gigur Myrthong presented a deficit budget of ₹17,574 of the Council for the year 2022-23.
In presenting the Budget in the Session of the Council which started today, the Deputy CEM expressed that the expenditure for this year will reach upto ₹194,97,66,220 crores, while the expected collection of revenue is ₹195,97,49,210 crores.
Myrthong said that the deficit in the Budget is due to the several expenses already planned out as per the Council’s expectation of income. The Deputy CEM expressed hope in the Session that the Executive Committee will try to take up initiatives for the generation of funds to raise the income for the Council.
