Rangblang, South West Khasi Hills: Ferdinand Syiemiong, the Acting Syiem of Nobosohphoh Syiemship, has urged individuals dissatisfied with his leadership to resolve issues through dialogue rather than resorting to destructive acts. His appeal comes in the wake of his vehicle being set on fire by unidentified miscreants just days ago.
Expressing sadness over the incident, Syiemiong said that destroying property was not the solution and encouraged those with grievances to come forward and discuss matters openly at his office in Rangblang. He clarified that his appointment as Acting Syiem was not a personal choice but a responsibility entrusted to him collectively by the traditional leaders and elders of the Hima Nobosohphoh.
Acknowledging that some people might be unhappy with his role, he invited them to express their concerns peacefully. He further announced that a general dorbar (public meeting) will be held on September 7, 2025, where individuals with complaints or issues are welcome to voice them before the council.
Syiemiong appealed for unity and cooperation, stressing that only through dialogue and mutual respect can the community overcome its challenges.
