The President of the Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP), KP Pangñiang, stated on Saturday that while new political parties often emerge with enthusiasm, established parties must continually work to strengthen their foundations.
When asked if the rise of the Voice of the People Party (VPP) could pose a challenge to the HSPDP in the upcoming MDC elections, Pangñiang noted that several parties, including HPU, PDM, UDP, KHNAM and PDF, have previously entered the political scene with the promise of change, but ultimately function similarly to other political entities.
He also stressed that the difference between district council elections and MP elections is as vast as the distance between Meghalaya and Delhi.
