Mawryngkneng MLA Heavingstone Kharpran raised concerns in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly regarding the delay in setting up a Fire & Emergency Services Station in Mawryngkneng.
During the session, Kharpran questioned the government on why the project had been stalled for so long. In response, Deputy Chief Minister in charge of Home, Prestone Tynsong, cited land acquisition issues as the primary reason for the delay.
Tynsong informed the House that the government had recently secured a plot of approximately 2,000 square feet, which has been handed over to the police department. He further stated that preparations for the Detailed Project Report (DPR) are currently underway, and once completed, the project will move forward without further delay.
