Shillong: Conrad K Sangma has strongly condemned the alleged attack on two individuals from Northeast India near the Saket Court Complex, calling the incident “sickening” and urging strict action against those responsible.
In a post on X earlier today, the Chief Minister expressed anger over repeated incidents targeting people from the Northeast in mainland cities.
“The physical attack on two of our people from Manipur and Assam near Saket Court, Delhi is sickening. Racial bullying should not be accepted as the new normal and we must act against it,” Sangma wrote.
He further urged authorities to take stringent action against those responsible, stressing that discrimination and violence against people from the region must not be tolerated.
The incident has sparked concern among leaders and community members, once again highlighting the issue of racial discrimination faced by people from Northeast India in major metropolitan areas.
Authorities in New Delhi have been urged to investigate the incident and ensure justice for the victims.
