Education Minister and NPP leader Rakkam A Sangma has revealed that several leaders from the Congress and TMC in Garo Hills are reportedly in discussions with the Voice of the People Party (VPP). Speaking to the media, Rakkam stated that while the NPP remains confident, it cannot afford to be complacent, as elections ultimately depend on the people’s choice.
Rakkam highlighted NPP’s growth over the years, countering past perceptions of the party being Garo-centric. He emphasized that the party’s success reflects the dedication of its leaders in serving the public across the state.
When asked about VPP’s plans to expand into Garo Hills, Rakkam welcomed the move, stating that in a democracy, all parties are free to establish themselves, but it is ultimately up to the people to decide which party to support.
