SHILLONG, March 09: The Chief Minister, Conrad Kongkal Sangma who is also incharge of the Finance Department in the Government presented the Budget of the financial year 2022-2023, in which the collection of revenue is deficit by ₹1,849 crores of the expenditure, which is about 4.5% of the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP).
In tabling the Budget, the Chief Minister said that the Government expects to generate an income of ₹18,700 crores in the upcoming financial year, while the expenditure is expected to reach upto ₹17,917 crores.
The Chief Minister said that the Budget of this year will no longer have a special allocation under ‘Plan and Non Plan’, with all being summed up together as done by the Central Government in presenting the Budget, and at the same time, special allocations have been provisioned for all departments of the Government.
