Shillong: The CEM of the KHADC, Titostarwell Chyne expressed that there is a profit as well a loss if teachers are permitted to or barred from taking part in political activities.
Titostarwell expressed this while speaking with media persons on his seeking further clarifications and details on the notification which was recently issued by the Government of Meghalaya which stated that teachers are barred from taking part in any political activities.
On the one hand, Titostarwell feels that if teachers are active in politics then it will be a boon to have well educated people, but on the other hand he also feels the need to express that if the teachers are receiving government pay, then they are counted as government servants and if it is to be looked from a different perspective then it would suggest that if teachers are allowed to be involved in politics then the government servants should also be allowed the same.
