The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) conducted by the Central Recruitment Board reached its fourth day on Thursday covering four battalion locations: Mawiong, Guragre, Sahbasein, Sohpian and Samanda.
This year’s recruitment process has been lauded by relatives and police aspirants, who noted that the management was more organized compared to previous years.
Strict measures were observed throughout the recruitment drive, with police ensuring robust security through extensive patrols, thorough document checks and screening of candidates. Additional efforts included the implementation of stringent inspections (height and physical standards) and the installation of CCTV cameras across the venue, aimed at preventing any form of unfair means.
This year saw an overwhelming response, with over 1.7 lakh candidates applying for various posts, including Armed Branch Constable, Unarmed Branch Sub-Inspector and other positions. The improved management has been noted as a positive step in ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process for Meghalaya’s aspiring police officers.
