Jowai: The Budget Session of the JHADC began today and the CEM, Thombor Shiwat has expressed his concern over the salaries of all the employees of this Council which includes the MDCs, the office employees and teachers under the JHADC as well as the retired employees. He pointed that the pending payments required to be cleared is about ₹80.60 crores, while the payment of salaries from the month of July, 2021 is under process.
He also said that for the financial year 2020-21,₹45 crores was collected as revenue from minerals with upto ₹18.18 crores pending, while the collection from minor minerals was upto ₹12.83 crores. He said that the Council through the Grant from the 15th Finance Commission for developmental works, collected more than ₹13 crores.
With regards to the Budget for the financial year 2022-23, it is estimated that upto ₹192,05,16,000 will be collected while the expenditure is estimated to be upto ₹204,94,48,300 which points to a deficit budget. It may be pointed here that the deficit has also arisen due to increments in salaries and others.
Upto ₹12 crores allocated to restart the revamping process of Ïawmusiang
Jowai: With regard to Ïawmusiang, the CEM said that he has had a talk with the Government to ensure funding of about ₹12 crores in order to continue the revamping process on this market which has remained pending for many years.
