BOMB THREATS FROM THE 1ST OF MAY RECEIVED; GOVERNMENT AND POLICE DEPARTMENT NOT TAKING THREATS LIGHTLY, SAYS RYMBUI

SHILLONG, April 05: The Minister incharge of the Home Department, Lahkmen Rymbui said that the Government and the Police Department is not taking any matter lightly and is vigilant in the event of there being any threat which can affect the law and order situation in the State.

A few media houses received an email from one outfit which identified itself as ‘Lawei ba Phyrnai’ on the 1st of April. The email received claimed to have been sent by a group of educated youths who are unemployed, and in this email a threat from the group states that they will start planting bombs every week from the 1st of May.

On being asked about this threat, Rymbui said that the Government is not taking into account whether they are educated or not, but in the event of any threat aiming to disrupt the law and order situation in the State, it is the duty of the Government to ensure that the citizens are safe and secured.
