SHILLONG: The body of a four-year-old girl who went missing from her home on Sunday was found dead in an under-construction house at Nongrah on Monday morning.
The child had disappeared while playing in the courtyard of her residence at Nongrah Nonglum Brei. Despite extensive searches by her family, villagers and local police, she could not be traced on Sunday.
Her body was eventually recovered the next morning, raising strong suspicion of foul play.
Police from Rynjah Police Station, along with villagers and family members, rushed to the spot as investigations began into the horrific incident.
