Shillong, April 29, 2025: All India Congress Committee (AICC) leader in charge of Meghalaya, Mathew Anthony, has alleged that the BJP government fabricated the National Herald case to deliberately target the Gandhi family.
Speaking at a press conference, Anthony claimed that the BJP has been using central agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to falsely implicate the Congress party, the Gandhi family, and the Associated Journals Limited (AJL) in a baseless legal case. He stated that there has been no misuse of funds nor any wrongdoing warranting such action by the government.
Anthony asserted that the BJP’s actions stem from its fear of the growing support for the Congress, adding that the Gandhi family continues to live in the hearts of millions of Indians who value the freedom and democratic values they represent.
He also said that the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) aims to spread awareness among the people of the state and ensure they are not misled by politically motivated narratives.
