Shillong: The Dorbar Shnong of Bhoirymbong Lumsohpieng, in coordination with the Village Defence Party (VDP), detained three men along with over 60 litres of illicit liquor early Tuesday morning.
Residents had alerted the Dorbar about the suspicious presence of the trio near the roadside leading to Mynsain. Acting on the information, the VDP and Rangbah Shnong Hamjngai Hinge inspected the area and found the men hiding liquor containers in nearby bushes. The suspects are believed to be from Bhoirymbong Khapmara and had reportedly been in the area since the previous night.
The Dorbar handed them over to Umroi PIC police, along with the seized liquor. The Rangbah Shnong strongly condemned the act and urged neighbouring villages to cooperate in curbing such illegal activities that threaten community safety.
