SHILLONG, March 21: The school teachers from all over the State under the banner of the Federation of the All Schools Teachers of Meghalaya (FASTOM) organised a gathering at Malki Ground to have the Government hear their long pending demand, which is to increase the salaries of teachers in the Lower Primary,Upper Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools.
The teachers from their end in the gathering announced that they will organise a peace rally from tomorrow and stand infront of the Secretariat Office gate till the 31st of this month.
The teachers also expressed that if the Government remains silent and obstinate to this demand, FASTOM will resort to other stronger means of protest after the examinations of the school students are over.
