Another group of SSA teachers threaten to take on to the streets to protest non-payment of salaries.

SHILLONG, July 05: The agitations of the teachers in this State might not see an end yet after another group of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyaan or SSA teachers today threatened to take to the streets their demand for the State Government to speed up the process in releasing their salaries which have remained unpaid for 5 months consecutively.

Before this group moves forward with its agitation programme, this group of SSA teachers under the leadership of L.Marngar met with the Minister of Education in Meghalaya, Lahkmen Rymbui.

Prior to meeting Lahkmen Rymbui, Marngar informed that the group had a meeting first at Khasi National Dorbar Hall in which deliberations were carried out on the non-payment of salaries for 5 consecutive months and in this meeting it was decided to submit a memorandum before the Government.

In this memorandum, the group demands the Government to release their 5 months pending salaries by the 12th of this month otherwise as teachers they will express their protest against the Government with a sit-in demonstration in Shillong.
