Shillong, December 13: The Chairperson of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) who is also the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee extended financial assistance of Rs.5 lakhs each to the families of the 5 victims who were shot dead by the Assam Police on the morning of the 22nd of November.
Banerjee met with the families of the victims during her two-day visit to Shillong where she also handed over the cash packets. The meeting of the Trinamool Congress leader with the families of the victims was to express her condolence and sympathies over the incident and also directed the party workers in Meghalaya who was with the affected families to ensure that they received justice.
