TURA: The A’chik Conscious Holistically Integrated Krima (ACHIK) Tura has expressed concerns over the Voice of People Party (VPP) move on the Roster system and states that the Party has been trying to invoke communal feelings among the brethren of Meghalaya.
“The ACHIK has expressed concerns over the Voice of People Party’s move on the Roster system and states that the Party has been trying to invoke communal feelings among the brethren of Meghalaya and promote injustice to the certain section of tribe”, read the letter of Bernita Bangsa Marak, the Legal Counsel of ACHIK.
The ACHIK as a society and organization,condemns the move of VPP to organize rally against the Roster system and voices that such act is the promotion of injustice to certain sections of tribe, further read the letter.
Marak stated that the roster system which was adjudged to be implemented by the High Court on matters on Job Reservation was to check the injustice and put hold on corruption as well as to uphold the job reservation policy of the state in accordance to the findings.
“The organization totally condemned the move of Voice of People Party to organized a rally against the Roster System and hope for better conscience,” said Mrs. Marak.
The ACHIK in a research and findings has found that Garo’s quota were always unfilled and average of 33% was always allotted to A chiks and it was duly accepted by the honourable High Court and hence the ruling of Roster System was adjudged to uphold the State Reservation Policy by the High Court.
“The voice against the judgement of the High Court is a contempt in nature,” said Advocate Bernita.
ACHIK organization ensures that the move of VPP against the judgement of the High Court would not see a stiff resistant from all the people of Garo Hills.
The Garo Students Union (GSU) expressed concerned on the statements of the VPP chief and the Union has alleged that the motive of the party is gain to political mileage out of the issue.
“The Garo Students Union strongly condemns the statement and vested interest of Ardent Basaiawmoit President of VPP Party to obtain political mileage and cause disharmony by wrongly portraying the Rooster System which is already a very efficient, Transparent and effective system in place”, said the letter of the President of GSU.
