Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma visited R.R. Colony, Rynjah, to inspect the damage caused to the bust of freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, which was recently vandalised.
During the visit, the Chief Minister announced that the state government has sanctioned ₹5 lakh for the restoration of the damaged bust.
Sangma also interacted with members of the local community and reiterated the government’s firm stand against acts of vandalism and any forces that threaten the peace, harmony and unity of Shillong and Meghalaya.
The sanctioned amount will be utilised for restoring the bust honouring Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
