Meghalaya Police Awarded President’s Police Colour, DGP Calls It a Proud Moment

Shillong, March 31: The Meghalaya Police has been conferred with the prestigious President of India’s Police Colour Award, one of the highest honours bestowed upon police forces in the country.

The President’s Colour symbolises recognition of exceptional service, dedication, courage, and integrity demonstrated by the force over the years.

Director General of Police Idashisha Nongrang described the honour as a moment of immense pride not only for the police force but for the entire state of Meghalaya.

She emphasised that the recognition also brings added responsibility to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and public service.

In a statement, Nongrang reaffirmed that the Meghalaya Police remains committed to strengthening its capabilities, enhancing public trust, and ensuring fairness, transparency, and accountability in its operations.

She also expressed gratitude to the government for its continued support and acknowledged the role of the people of Meghalaya, whose cooperation and trust remain vital in maintaining peace and security in the state.

The DGP noted that the award recognises the collective efforts and sacrifices of both serving and retired personnel who have contributed to building a disciplined, efficient, and people-friendly police force.

She further congratulated all officers and personnel for their dedication and exemplary service.
