Conrad K. Sangma launched the ₹4.61 crore E-RISE initiative in Ri-Bhoi to boost Meghalaya’s eri silk economy and strengthen rural livelihoods.
The E-RISE (ERI Rearing, Innovation, Spinning and Empowerment) programme will support 1,200 farming households across 22 clusters with high-yield plants, financial assistance, and modern spinning machines, aiming to enhance productivity and income.
The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for the Umsning Mini Stadium at Patarim, fulfilling a long-standing demand and strengthening sports infrastructure ahead of the National Games 2027.
Additionally, Project ASPIRE, a ₹1.57 crore initiative supported by NITI Aayog, was launched to provide academic support and career guidance to students.
The initiatives highlight the government’s focus on rural development, youth empowerment, and infrastructure growth in the state.
