Shillong: Meghalaya has achieved a proud milestone at the Khelo India Tribal Games 2026, with athletes Larityngkai Lawriniang and Verem G. Nongsiej securing bronze medals for the state.
Larityngkai Lawriniang made history by winning Meghalaya’s first medal at the Games, clinching bronze in the 53 kg weightlifting category. She is part of the STAR Elite Pathway Program, and her achievement reflects years of dedication and hard work.
Meanwhile, Verem G. Nongsiej also secured a bronze medal, marking another significant accomplishment as she became Meghalaya’s first medal winner in any National Game.
