The Martin Luther Christian University in Shillong successfully organised a week-long programme on “Culture and Psychology,” bringing together experts, students, and faculty to explore the intersection of culture and mental health.
The programme featured renowned experts Roy Moodley from the University of Toronto and Tony Sam George of Neuropathways, Bengaluru, who led sessions on counselling, diversity, and neuroscience in psychology.
Sessions highlighted culturally responsive counselling approaches, indigenous knowledge systems, and the role of neuroscience in modern practice. Alumni also shared real-world applications through community initiatives.
The event concluded with a public lecture on decolonial methodologies and a cultural performance, reinforcing the importance of integrating culture into psychological practice.
