SHILLONG: The Executive Committee (EC) of the VPP in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has made a temporary appointment of a Secretary for over a week period.
According to an order issued by the Chief Executive Member (CEM) on March 18, the EC has allowed J.E. Dkhar, currently serving as Joint Secretary, to take full charge as Secretary of the Executive Committee in addition to his existing responsibilities. The arrangement has come into immediate effect and will remain in force until April 1, 2026.
The reason behind the sudden appointment has not been officially disclosed. However, sources indicated that the EC had recently suspended the incumbent Secretary. Prior to this, it was also learnt that Special Counsel Themist Diengdoh had stepped down from his position.
