Digi SAPNE 2.0 Roadshow Held at Shillong to Strengthen Northeast Startup Ecosystem

Shillong: The Atal Incubation Centre Sikkim Manipal University Technology Business Incubation Foundation (AIC-SMUTBIF), with the esteemed support of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, successfully conducted the Digi SAPNE 2.0 Roadshow at the PRIME Startup Hub, Shillong. The event marked a significant step towards strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the North Eastern region of India. Digi SAPNE 2.0 is a flagship startup acceleration program to support startups by providing access to mentorship, resources, and growth opportunities.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. Lakshyaa Gurung, followed by an insightful overview of AIC-SMUTBI and a detailed presentation on the objectives, benefits, and opportunities offered under Digi SAPNE 2.0. Adding value to the session, Mr. Rony Saha, Founder of Recycle Bazaar Pvt. Ltd. and an alumni entrepreneur, Winner of previous Cohort from Meghalaya, shared his journey and experiences, motivating aspiring entrepreneurs to leverage such platforms for scaling their ventures.

The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. David Kharlukhi, Deputy Secretary, Planning Department, Government of Meghalaya, who emphasized the importance of collaboration among government, incubators, and startups in building a strong and sustainable startup ecosystem in the Northeast, and encouraged entrepreneurs to leverage initiatives like Digi SAPNE 2.0 to convert innovative ideas into impactful ventures. The presence of the Guest of Honour, Mr. W. Pakyntein, Functional Manager, Directorate of Commerce & Industries (DCIC), further motivated the startup founders through his encouragement and support, inspiring them to pursue innovation-driven entrepreneurship with confidence.

The AIC SMU Technology Business Incubation Foundation Team, expressed their heartfelt gratitude and sincere appreciation to the Planning Department, Directorate of Commerce & Industries , the PRIME Startup Hub for their unwavering support and hospitality, and all participating startups for their enthusiastic engagement. The roadshow concluded on a highly positive note, reaffirming AIC-SMUTBIF’s commitment to empowering startups and driving inclusive entrepreneurial growth across the North Eastern states.
