Jowai – Farmers across four villages, including Pynthorlangteiñ, Muphlang, Mustem, and Iongnoh, are devastated after an intense hailstorm destroyed eight months of hard work in just 15 minutes. The storm struck around 2:30 pm yesterday, severely damaging paddy fields and plantations.
The impact of the hailstorm continued into the following day, leaving crops in ruins. Village leaders from the affected areas have appealed to the government for urgent assistance to help farmers recover their losses. They submitted a formal request to the Deputy Commissioner of West Jaiñtia Hills, seeking financial aid or other forms of support to mitigate the damage sustained.
