It’s been over a year since Mishon Suting, a 70-year-old woman, went missing, leaving her family in a state of uncertainty and despair. Mishon disappeared in July 2023 after going for a bath at a nearby stream and hasn’t returned since. Despite continuous efforts from her family, friends, and villagers to search for her, there has been no trace of her whereabouts.
Mishon Suting hailed from Nongthymmai village near Pynursla but disappeared from Umden Umbathiang village in the Ri-Bhoi district. Her son-in-law, Bah Shor Nongkharai, shared that she had been visiting the village to spend time with relatives when she went missing. On that day, she went to bathe in a stream about 500 meters away from the house, a place commonly frequented by villagers. However, she never returned, and despite thorough searches in the nearby hills and forests, no clues have been found.
The family has reported her disappearance to neighboring villages and even sought help from the police, who brought in sniffer dogs to trace her steps, but all efforts have been in vain. A year later, the family continues to live in hope, wishing for any sign of her whereabouts.
